KorenWetmore.com Privacy Policy

This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for KorenWetmore.com. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by this website.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

I am the sole owner of the information collected on this site. I will never sell or rent this information to anyone. I don’t share it for free either.

I will use your information to respond to you, if you ask for a response. I will not share your information with any third party, other than as necessary to fulfill your request (e.g., deliver my newsletter and other news and updates to subscribers).

I would never contact you out of the blue just because you visited my site. If you subscribe to my newsletter, you can expect a welcome message, a bi-monthly newsletter, and occasional updates about my work.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter easily, at any time, using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter and/or message I send.

Here’s what gets collected where

  1. Newsletter: When you sign up, you supply your name and email address, which I keep. I manage my newsletter through ConvertKit, so your information is stored at that site also. View ConvertKit’s privacy policy.
  2. Quizzes and Surveys: When you participate in any survey or quiz included in the newsletter signup form or newsletter content, I collect and use the information to share in or help shape future newsletter content so as to respect and value your and other reader’s preferences. This information is also stored on ConvertKit.

Sharing information

I don’t sell anything directly from my website or via my newsletter, so I don’t collect anything more sensitive than your name and email address, which you give voluntarily. There’s no place for you to log in, so no passwords are collected. If you want to buy one of my books, you can follow a link to a bookstore.

I don’t share any information with anybody. I don’t have any ads on my site. I don’t even do website analytics.

Third party cookies

My site links to many bookstores, like Amazon and Kobo. Some of these sites may create a cookie telling them where you came from. I don’t create it or keep that information, but it could be created on your computer as a result of your clicking that link at my site. Clear as mud? Think of it as a trail of breadcrumbs, tracking your path through the internet. I don’t track how you found me, but big outfits often do.

Similarly, I have buttons to go to my social media sites, like Facebook. I don’t track your use of these buttons, but Facebook, Twitter, etc. might create a cookie saying that you got there via my website.

What’s a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

You can control or delete cookies as you wish – for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all the cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work. Visit your browser’s help information to find out how to do that.

Links

This website contains links to other sites, like online bookstores and my Books2Read author page. Please be aware that I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any other site. I encourage users to notice when they leave KorenWetmore.com and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personal information.

Updates

My Privacy Policy may change from time to time and all updates will be posted on this page.
